Day 1: Marrakech – Ait ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges
Departing from Marrakech at 8:00 am, our journey takes us to the High Atlas mountains, passing through Tizi N’Tichka port with scenic stops to capture the Berber villages. Arriving at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we explore the famous Kasbah known for its role in films like Gladiator and The Mummy. After lunch, we head to Ouarzazate, the “The gate of the desert,” to see the Taourirt kasbah. Continuing through the Rose Valley and Skoura palm grove, where over 700,000 palms and kasbahs dot the landscape. Known for its rosewater production, the valley hosts the annual Rose Festival in May. Our journey ends in Dades Valley for an overnight stay.
Day 2 :Dades – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Sahara Desert
After a tasty breakfast in Dades, we head to Todra Gorges, a stunning natural wonder with towering canyon walls. Then, we travel to Erfoud, famous for its fossil treasures. The highlight is in Merzouga, where camels await for a picturesque ride through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. We witness a magical sunset in the heart of the Sahara Desert. At a lavish desert camp, enjoy a delectable dinner under the starry sky before resting in a private tent amidst the serene beauty of the Sahara.
Day 3 : Merzouga Desert – Nomads Families – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi
After a leisurely breakfast, the day unfolds with an exploration of the Merzouga region. Our discoveries include the Gnawi village, a locale imbued with unique cultural richness, the picturesque Merzouga lake with its graceful flamingos, and artisanal craft houses. The afternoon heralds a camel trek, a quintessential experience guided by seasoned hands, offering an intimate encounter with the mesmerizing sand-sea of Erg Chebbi. The day gracefully concludes in a traditional tent, where the tranquil desert night becomes the backdrop for a delightful dinner.
Day 4 : Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Cedar forests of Azrou – Fes
A pre-dawn awakening allows us to witness the stunning Sahara sunrise, marking the start of our return to Fes. After a hearty breakfast, we travel through Errachidia, Tizi Ntlaghmat, and Midelt, each adding its unique charm. We stop in Zaida for a barbecue and mint tea, and encounter playful monkeys in Azrou. Our journey concludes in Ifrane, celebrating the rich cultural heritage and diversity of Morocco.
