Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate Merzouga
The 2-day trip from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert begins with a 7:00 AM pickup at your Riad.
Our first stop is the Atlas Mountains, specifically the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, known for its well-preserved fortress city and historical significance as a waypoint for camel caravans.
Next, we head to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara Desert and a hub for Hollywood films.
We then travel through the scenic Draa Valley to Merzouga, where we will ride camels for an hour to our Berber desert camp, featuring private tents and stunning starry skies.
Day 2: Merzouga – Boumalne Dades – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
On the second day of our desert excursion from Marrakech to Merzouga, we wake up early to witness the stunning Sahara sunrise. After breakfast and a hot shower, we’ll ride camels back to our starting point.
Next, we head to Tineghir, passing through Erfoud and Tinejdad, with a lunch break along the way. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Todra Gorges for photos and a chance to explore the canyon on foot.
We then travel to Boumalne Dades via Kalaa M’Gouna, enjoying views of Dades Valley and the Skoura palm groves. Our return to Marrakech will take us through Ouarzazate and the High Atlas Mountains, with an expected arrival around 6 or 7 PM, where your driver will drop you off at your chosen location, concluding our tour.
