- : Itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Azrou – Arfoud – Merzouga
We will pick you up at your riad or your hotel around 8 am. We leave for Midelt through the Mountains and the cedar forests of the middle Atlas. We pass by Ifrane, a charming ski resort and Azrou, an important handicraft center specialized in the work of cedarwood. We arrive in Midelt for lunch. In the afternoon we will drive to Erfoud and into the desert. You will have a camel trek into the beautiful Erg Chebbi Dunes, where you will spend the evening in a bivouac (desert camp). There you will enjoy a Berber dinner and sleep in traditional Nomad camel hair tent.
Day 2 : Merzouga Desert Tour
Today we explore Merzouga desert by 4×4. We will visit the Gnawa village and its local people – originally from Mali, where we will learn about their music and lifestyle. We will meet Nomad people living in the desert and we enjoy lunch with them. We may visit Rissani and its souk. In the afternoon, we prepare for a camel ride to the desert, guided by an experienced camel guide. We explore hidden beauty in the desert – in the middle of the highest sand dunes in Morocco – in Merzouga. We will have dinner at the desert camp and we stay overnight in desert tents.
Day 3 – Merzouga Desert To Dades Gorges
Today, on the 4th day tour from Fes to Marrakech in the morning we prepare for a camel ride back to the village. We enjoy desert sunrise and after breakfast, in hotel, we depart to Rissani and Erfoud which are known by fossils. We drive through palm tree groves of Ziz Valley, we continue towards Tinghir and the Todra Gorges to explore its valley, famous for rock climbers. We head to Boumalne Dades where we will enjoy dinner and overnight in the hotel in Dades Gorges.
Day 4 – Dades Gorges To Marrakech
early morning we depart towards Ouarzazate. We will explore the Valley of Roses, also Skoura. In Ouarzazate, we will visit a local movie studio and also a kasbah in the city. Then we drive to Ait Benhaddou to visit UNESCO kasbah. We continue driving through the mountain pass of Tizi n Tichka and we drive back to Marrakesh where our 4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech finishes.
